Be Part of Software Freedom Day Philippines 2012

Software Freedom Day (SFD) was initiated by a group of FOSS believers with the main goal that everyone without a vested interest in proprietary software must unite and educate the world about the ideals of Software Freedom and the practical benefits of Free Software. In August 28 of 2004, the first ever Software Freedom Day was held.

Here in the Philippines, Software Freedom Day is celebrated annually through the initiative of the Computer Professionals’ Union. The Computer Professionals’ Union or CPU is a non-stock, not-for-profit development non-government organisation working on an information and communications technology (ICT) to benefit the Filipino people through the promotion of activist ICT principles by forging networks of ICT professionals, students and advocates and mobilising them to provide ICT services for the common good of the Filipino people.

CPU invites everyone to be part of SFD Philippines 2012 celebration on September 15, 2012, Saturday at University of Santo Tomas Campus in Manila. Learn more about SFD Philippines 2012 at http://www.cp-union.com/.
