IT Security Engineer

Job Description

• Administers, supports and improves Emerson''s global security services
• Automates the gathering, parsing and reporting of security events from various components including firewalls, proxies, intrusion detections systems, host based intrusion prevention system, virus protection systems
• Executes and support Emerson''s global incident response process
• Performs routine auditing of system configuration compliance with established build standards
• Verifies changes are in accordance to change control management
• Proactively researches and locates the necessary tools and processes to identify troublesome trends as they develop; analyzes/predicts trends and develops a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring; maintain high service level for the user community
• Participates in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the infrastructure, such as evaluation of new software and hardware required to meet a business need or to make a process more cost effective
• Responsible for determining product delivery and deployment dates for new product releases, feature and maintenance releases and regular corrective service or service pack releases - may lead major releases and ensure feature enhancements respond to customer request
• Acts as a technical consultant to the enterprise and leads research, and prototyping of innovative technologies and products
• Ensures the technology and architectural roadmap of engineering is properly aligned with and supports the product business roadmap.

Tech Professional Description

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor''''s/College Degree , Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
• Fluent in English
• Security related certifications are a plus but not required • CISSP, GCIH, GREM
• 2-4 years of experience of related experience in IT including security and project(s)
• Technical Skills needed: o Hands-on expertise with security event monitoring, correlation and investigation
o Familiarity with Incident Response Methodology (Evidence acquisition, analysis and reporting)
o Working knowledge of Active Directory
o Experience with Encryption technologies
o Experience and knowledge of LAN Desk Suite of products
o Experience with Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware software
o Knowledge of host firewalls, intrusion detection systems and extrusion detection technologies
o Experience testing and applying vulnerability patches to workstations and servers.
