Job Description

Provides hands-on day-to-day technical support for Citrix, VMware and Windows systems. The scope of this position includes support for over 3000+ Windows servers, most of which are in two new datacenters and the others are global in reach. This individual will be responsible for administration, uptime, performance, security, patching and troubleshooting. Participates in “On Call” schedule.
• Provides Citrix technical support for enterprise Citrix XenApp 5.0 server farm
• Working knowledge of Citrix gateways, Citrix web front-ends and Citrix licensing
• Experience with Citrix application packaging
• Provides documentation for Citrix XenApp systems
• Supports VMWare virtual server environment
• Supports x86 Blade and rack mount servers
• Installs/Troubleshoots/Replaces hardware or firmware as necessary
• Works with users to troubleshoot and solve operational issues
• Responsible for coordinating recovery in the event of system failure
• Provides operating system level support to application developers and performing server migrations into to new datacenters
• Responsible for maintaining and deploying Citrix security patches to the server environment by following standard patching methodology
• Provides Citrix tuning, troubleshooting and analysis
• Monitors system logs, activity and performance on all servers daily
• Administer, verifies and restores backups as necessary
• Works with other groups, Division leads, consultants and other stakeholders to develop, test, and maintain procedures for Disaster Recovery (DR). Maintain technical DR readiness.

Tech Professional Description

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor`s/College Degree , Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
• Citrix, VMware and Windows 2003/2008 or equivalent certification a plus.
• 3-5 years of experience in Windows 2003/2008 required.
• 3-5 years of VMWare ESX 3 or higher experience desired.
• 3+ years of experience with Citrix versions 2, 3, 4 or Xen App 5 required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise production environment best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
• Active Directory experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with MOM/SCOM, LANDesk and Symantec Endpoint is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
